Pre Games Training

Since London was announced as the host of the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012, there has been significant focus on the steady progress towards the event, not only in London but also across the whole of the UK. The 2012 Games offer a wonderful opportunity to welcome the world to this global city and to transform communities as the triumph of elite sporting competition leaves its mark.

Athletes across all sports and disciplines will be training hard and making careful preparations as they come ever closer to competing in the range of events over the summer of 2012.

In south London we have a wide range of world class facilities, support staff and personnel which can be used as a base for competing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games teams in the years and months leading up to 2012. Currently south London accounts for over one fifth of London’s pre Games training facilities.
