Town/District Centres

South London partners wish to take a more strategic view of the future of town and district centres in the sub-region and to develop a hierarchical approach where the present and potential future position of each is recognised and supported collectively so that each can develop in its particular niche.

In 2007 South London Partnership completed 11 town and district centre studies. A detailed study of a number of ‘stressed’ town and district centres in the sub-region identified a number of centres with both a need for regeneration and an imminent investment that could be captured.
